QBM - Higher Bandwidth DDR Modules Available Sooner
Using existing, low cost DDR I devices, QBM today, delivers the bandwidth expected from future DDR II memory devices. The technology provides DDR II speeds, cost savings and a dramatic performance improvement over DDR I-333 and future DDR I-400 and DDR II modules, as well as other non-DDR compatible, more expensive memory technologies.
Excellent price performance is an important element in QBM; by using standard “off the shelf” components, bandwidth is dramatically improved while extra costs associated with this innovative technology are held at a minimum.
QBM doubles the bandwidth of today’s fastest memory ICs
Part of the magic of QBM is that it does not require any change to the DRAM. It is a platform (or module) based technology that uses standard off-the-shelf components including the standard, existing DDR devices.
To ensure backwards compatibility with DDR modules at the system level, QBM was designed with the standard 184-pin DIMM outline. The module width is eight Bytes and supports ECC.
