KENTRON
TECHNOLOGIES RECEIVES THE FIRST 1GB, DDR266 MEMORY MODULE APPROVAL FROM TYAN
COMPUTER FOR THE DUAL ATHLON BASED, THUNDER K7 S2462 MOTHERBOARD
Kentron Technologies Passes
Advanced Testing On Tyan, Dual Athlon Based, Thunder K7 S2462 Motherboard With
Its Innovative Low Profile (1.2-Inch) Registered 1GB and 512MB High Density FEMMA DDR Modules
Wilmington,
MA, (June 27, 2001) Kentron Technologies (www.kentrontech.com), a leader
in advanced memory platforms is the first memory technology company to offer a
1GB DDR memory module approved on Tyans Thunder K7 motherboard. After
undergoing Tyans stringent quality testing for the dual Athlon, Thunder K7
motherboard, Tyans Qualification team has approved Kentron Technologies as an
approved DDR supplier. Kentrons 1GB DDR266, FEMMA Registered, ECC memory
module is the first 1GB DDR memory module to be on Tyans approved list of
qualified memory modules. Kentron also recently received the first low
profile 512MB FEMMA DDR266 memory module approval from Tyan for the Thunder K7
motherboard.
Tyans
approval of the Kentron modules marks the immediate availability of reliable and
affordable high density memory solutions for Tyans Thunder K7 customer
base, said Bob Goodman, CEO of Kentron Technologies. Kentron has
further strengthened its position as the leading provider of advanced DDR memory
platforms with the right combination of performance, availability and cost
savings.
Kentron
currently markets these two low profile memory modules for Tyans Thunder K7
S2462. The first module is a 1GB FEMMA DDR memory module, part number
KT12872DRN3R-XXV2; the second is a 512MB FEMMA DDR module, part number
KT6472DRN3R-XXV2. Both modules have registered operations and support ECC (Error
Checking and Correction). The 1.2, Registered FEMMA module runs at
speeds up to 266MHz. Kentrons 1.2-high, registered FEMMA DIMMs not
only meet the height restrictions of the 1U system manufactures, but also
provide the best price/performance solution by eliminating the high cost of
stacking devices and by effectively addressing the thermal issues inside of
these space constrained environments.
By employing
1.2-high, 1GB and 512MB, Registered ECC FEMMA memory modules in their
systems, Tyan Thunder K7 customers, can now market fully configured, reliable
systems.
"Kentron
has consistently supplied XPRO Systems division of Continental Resources with
top quality qualified memory at value prices, said Lona Bishop, Operations
Manager XPRO Systems Division at Continental Resources. Combined with their excellent
service and on-time deliveries, this allows us to deliver our custom configured
server products in accordance with our customer's needs, concluded Bishop.
