PRESENTING:

"QBM Enabled" - VIA PT880/PM880 Chipset Solutions with the Fastest Memory

VIA is preparing for the launch this Fall of their new PT880 & PM880 chipsets that will be the first chipsets able to run the new DDRI based QBM modules. The top tier mother board suppliers are adopting the new "QBM Enabled" VIA chipsets and systems running these boards will be able to operate with both the standard DDRI modules as well as the much faster QBM533/667 modules, all in the same connectors.

QBM offers an excellent Price/Performance scenario which will allow QBM modules to become mainstream in the systems world in 2004. QBM800 and QBM1066 modules will be added to the product solution set and continue as mainstream solutions using the new DDRII devices coming out in 2004/2005. QBM modules use today's standard, low cost DDR266 and DDR333 devices to produce standard 184-pin modules operating at 533MHz and 667MHz. Additional launch phases for QBM include notebooks, servers, mobile applications, games, set top boxes, TVs, etc. The QBM technology is available to the chipset and module manufacturers under a royalty-FREE license.
