KENTRON TECHNOLOGIES NAMES CEO, ROBERT JUDSON GOODMAN

 

Wilmington, MA (March 22, 2000) – Kentron Technologies, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of high-density memory products, announced today the appointment of Robert Judson Goodman as Chief Executive Officer.

Robert J. Goodman joins Kentron with over twenty years of management experience in the computer and semiconductor industries. Most recently he has been a part of Luxtron Corporation, a subsidiary of the Fairy Group as President and CEO. Mr. Goodman provided significant leadership and direction to the company, especially during the Asian Financial Crisis that started in late 1997, where the Semiconductor industry experienced its most severe downturn in history. Through Mr. Goodman’s guidance, the Company was able grow its leading position in the Semiconductor market by continuing new product development activity, shifting distribution channel focus, expanding global coverage and building very valuable technical expertise.

"His breadth of marketing and general financial management experience will enable our business to gain strategic growth, while assisting the Company to infiltrate its patented memory technologies into the market place", concluded Karabatsos.

Prior to joining Luxtron Corporation in 1995, Mr. Goodman held management positions at Texas Instruments, Inc. and was General Manager at Wyse Technology, Inc. were he was responsible for the profit and loss scenario for the Amdek family of computer display products. Through his leadership, the Company was able to dramatically increase revenues and build market share. Growth in revenues and margins, while at Wyse Technology, was achieved by effectively utilizing alternative channels of distribution, creating product cost reduction programs, delivering products with enhanced price/performance, and maximizing efficiencies in sales and marketing activities.

Robert Goodman received his MBA from Saint Edward’s University in 1984 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
