KENTRON TECHNOLOGIES ANNOUNCES PC100/133 ULTRA LOW PROFILE 1.2" REGISTERED/UNBUFFERED SDRAM DIMM MODULE, AVAILABLE FOR SAMPLING THIS MONTH

Wilmington, MA (June 7, 2000) – Kentron Technologies, a leader in next generation memory architectures announced today the availability of its ultra low profile 1.2 inch, 168-pin SDRAM DIMM. The new ultra low profile SDRAM DIMM is available in Registered and Unbuffered configurations with densities running from 128MB up to 512MB. The 1.2-inch SDRAM module is compliant with PC100/133 specifications.

Following the same design models that allowed the company to achieve the lowest PC1600/2100 DDR registered module, has permitted Kentron’s engineers to reduce the height from the industry standard by 20% for the Registered SDRAM module, and by 15% for the Unbuffered module.

"The 1.2" SDRAM DIMM has been especially designed for those platforms such as the 1U servers that need reliable, cost-efficient, high-density memory in a low profile packaging solution", stated Tom Mullen, Kentron’s Director of Sales. "With the introduction of this new low profile DIMM the Kentron engineering team has once again successfully responded to our customer’s needs with this space saving solution".

The need for low profile devices is being strongly driven in the market place as the demand for Internet infrastructure grows. Concentrating on offering leading-edge technology, Kentron has especially designed a cost-effective, reliable, high-density memory solution for the 1U and other platforms where space and height are strictly constrained.

The Registered and Unbuffered 1.2" SDRAM modules will be delivered to customers for sampling this month.
